Information on Joining the Board

Elections are held at the June General Meeting each year for each of the board positions – to start term in September.

All Oak Park parents are welcome to attend any of the board meetings or to talk to one of the staff or board members to obtain further information. The time commitment and level of responsibility for board members is very minimal. However, the board is important to the overall quality of Oak Park and we greatly appreciate the efforts of each member. It’s a wonderful way to get involved!

General Duties:

• Provide positive support and guidance to Oak Park staff
• 12 month term
• 1 night per month, approximately 10 meetings per year
• Discuss major expenditures and new initiatives
• Examine and vote on important topics

Positions:

Position	Details
President	Presides all meetings Signs all By-laws, Membership certificates, and special resolutions Works in close communication with the Director
Vice-President	Works closely with the President Responsible for any fundraising initiatives
Treasurer	Oversees all financial transactions, yearly audit, financial reports Directs and guides the Executive in all business decisions
Maintenance Chair	Responsible for overseeing all general maintenance in the centre
Secretary	Acts as a clerk in recording minutes to all Executive and General meetings
Curriculum Chair	Responsible for overseeing curriculum in centre
